A groundcover manzanita with vigorous dense growth. The leaves are distinctively large, thick and highly polished. The flowers are showy pink. Seems to be an exceptionally disease resistant form of the A. uva-ursi. Plant in full sun on the coast and part shade inland. It is a selection from San Bruno Mountain in San Mateo County.
