Picea sitchensis - Sitka Spruce

Description

This tree has great potential as a Christmas tree in a large container. In the garden it will grow up to 100-150' tall, with wide spreading branches and narrow needles prickly to the touch. Requirements are from light to full shade, regular watering, and good drainage. Sitka Spruce is native to moist, even swampy areas near the mouths of coastal rivers, from Mendocino County north to Alaska.
