Description

This berberis can be found in the Bay Region, growing on rocky slopes, coniferous forests, oak woodlands and coastal promontories. It has a wide range throughout the California floristic provence. It is tolerant of wind and summer fog. Wants occasional summer water. The new foliage is a beautiful bronze, the leaves a glossy green, the leaflets closely overlapping. Clusters of yellow flowers appear in spring and can potentially become blue fruit. Good used in the rock garden or the back of a mixed border.
