Description

This low growing species of Manzanita is endangered in the wild. In nature it is found on shale outcrops on Vine Hill near Forestville in Sonoma Co. The leaves of this mounding shrub are shiny green with a sharp point. Clusters of white or pink flowers grace the plant in early spring, proviging a nectar source for Hummingbirds. This Manzanita is one of the most widely used parents for selected cultivars and hybrids as it is one of the most tolerant of garden conditions.
